Is it $25 a submission just to be juried even if it does not make the show or is 25$ to submit 5? Also is there any size requirements? Would 10×15 inch holga prints mounted on foam core be ok to show? Thank you, Kellen

I have some light paintings that I did using medium format transparency film. Does that qualify for submission?

Hey there! The $25 submission fee covers up to 5 pieces to be juried. Unfortunately, the submission fee is not refundable, regardless of the outcome. There are no minimum or maximum size requirements ad Holga prints on foam core are acceptable. They just need to be ready to hang if accepted into the show.

  9. jennifer on December 15, 2009 at 5:15 pm

    Hi Todd,
That sounds interesting–you should definitely submit:)

    Thanks!
    Jennifer

    Hey Sarah,
Yes, it qualifies. We look forward to your submissions:)

    Thanks!

How about work done with an 8×10 studio camera and 125 yr old football sized lens on paper negs?

  12. jennifer on December 18, 2009 at 4:18 pm

    Oh yeah, that counts. :)

  13. Cordelia on December 26, 2009 at 1:21 am

Hi, can I submit dry plate tintypes?
    thx!

  14. jennifer on December 27, 2009 at 11:14 am

    Yes!

  15. Nicholas Whitman on December 29, 2009 at 4:48 pm

Inkjet on canvas eligible? How about platinotype?

  16. Joanne on December 30, 2009 at 1:00 pm

Does an image taken with a lens baby on a DSLR count?

  17. melissa on December 30, 2009 at 2:31 pm

Nicholas~Platinotype=yes! Inkjet on canvas….probably not. It would really depend on the camera you used to collect the image being printed.

  18. melissa on December 30, 2009 at 2:42 pm

Anything taken with a DSLR wouldn’t be included in the specifications for the show unless there was some kind of alternative printing/processing.

  19. Gray on December 31, 2009 at 2:59 pm

    1. Would traditional silver prints made from a 4×5 camera be eligible?
    2. Are cyanotype eligible?

  20. melissa on December 31, 2009 at 3:36 pm

    Absolutely!

  21. Jessica on January 7, 2010 at 5:23 am

Would capturing images using a digital flatbed scanner be acceptable? Just to be clear these are not scans on images, but the actual creation of new images.

    :) thanks!

  22. Andrew on January 7, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Am I reading this correct that you mainly want toy and handmade cameras, or will any film camera qualify.

Also do prints need to be wet darkroom or are digital prints acceptable.

finally I have a few pieces I may like to enter that consist of 4-9 images in seperate frames. They are 1 piece meant to be hung together to create the whole image. Is this acceptable as one entry?

Too bad that the time between jurying in and getting the work is so short as it means those of us outside the states, to be practical , can’t enter…also, paypal would be a great way to pay as it is international!

Sorry I just learned about this… How about large (30 x 40-ish) cyanotypes on fabric? Or traditional LF negative enlarged onto 20 x 24 film? How about traditional camera with very non-traditional everything after that? Finally, what about other alt-process things like Van Dyke Brown, Gum Bichromate, etc. where everything that happened after the camera is non-traditional? Or, does the actual image capture have to be the non-traditional part? Thanks!

  28. jennifer on January 14, 2010 at 12:13 pm

That all sounds great and in the spirit of this show. I hope you decide to submit.

  29. Lexi on January 15, 2010 at 10:54 am

I’ve been working with the wet plate processes in a camera that I’ve altered to hold glass plates… does that count?

  30. jennifer on January 15, 2010 at 11:30 am

    Sure does!

  31. Jerry Lamme on January 15, 2010 at 12:04 pm

    Hello

I work in digital zone plate and pinhole image capture, and composite them to create
combined images. These are printed on hand-coated Rives BFK and Stonehenge
    papers. Would these images qualify

    Thanks so much

  32. jennifer on January 15, 2010 at 12:55 pm

Sounds awesome Jerry! Yes, that qualifies:)

  33. Pasha on January 21, 2010 at 6:23 pm

Shoot. Found out too late. Will have to wait for the next one! Thanks!
