Join the queen of portraits, Elizabeth Reid for a fun, laid back portrait painting workshop!

This class will focus on how to create a likeness through color in an ala prima (wet) style of painting. We will focus on basic color theory to achieve rich and expressive paintings. Students will be working from a photo reference.

No prerequisites required, no experience with oil required!  Some drawing experience preferred, but not required. All painting supplies will be provided. Students will leave with an 8×8 canvas portrait, as complete as time allows.

Part 2: Sun. June 20th 2-5pm  (with a break)

This two part class will cover the process of screen printing using photo emulsion technique from start to finish. on the first day we will prepare screens and work on design. on the second day we will complete the screens and do some printing. each student will leave with a complete screen and a few prints. some drawing/design experience is recommended.

a limited supply of t-shirts will be available for 3-5$

**students are asked to bring a design either 8.5″x11″ or 16″x20″ in size. these will be worked on in class and as homework. students are also invited to bring fabric to print on. cotton/poly blends are good, but spandex/lycra are not usable.

Its what happens when cabaret meets art school–thanks to Molly Crabapple, life drawing is no longer quiet, subdued and lifeless.

Join us on June 11th & 25th as our models pose amidst poets, improv acts. comics, story tellers and other performance artists. Bring your sketch books, pencils, pens and markers for a drawing session like no other. Contests, prizes and models to be announced soon! $15  per session $10 for Soundry members

Pottery Handbuilding: Terra Cotta Planter or Clay Wind Chimes

During class students will make either a terra cotta planter for succulent plants or clay chimes to put together a wind chime. Projects will be fired off site by instructor and returned for pick up on June 19th. (Wind Chimes will be stringed on the 19th with hemp string, beads, etc.)
Working with clay is a great relaxer and you will make something useful for your patio or sunroom that you can enjoy all summer!

Looking for a great activity for your 6-12 year old on early release days from public school?

Young, aspiring artists (ages 6-12) are invited to join LisaMarie Adams at The Soundry for a rollicking good time! Monday afternoons are full of fun and excitement. Each “jam” will involve different artsy tools and techniques. We will explore a variety of mediums and learn basic art skills while making new friends and enjoying each others’ company.  Pre-registration is required so we can be sure to provide enough supplies for everybody!

Cost: $10 per class

**Parents are invited to stay and play for $5 or go enjoy a break!** Parents can also wait in The Soundry cafe and enjoy an espresso drink. Free wi-fi also!

Hub Theater’s Community Voices event will showcase stories told by the folks who lived them. STORY WORKSHOP:  Saturday January 9th

Introductory Tuition Rate! $20

In our homemade gift making series! Participants will create beautiful, acrylic paintings on glass ornament balls. Learn basic painting techniques and create truly unique gifts or decorations that will be treasured for years.

Class Fee: $25 includes up to three balls, paints, supplies and instruction

Advanced registration required.

Get on your holiday swing. We will be engaged in making real evergreen wreaths to decorate your home or give as a gift. These are approx. 15-25 inches around and smell great!

We will provide some holiday music and good cheer. The coffee house happens to serve amazing hot chocolate too! Sign up with friends–the more the merrier!

**Students are encouraged to bring ribbon, pine cones, berries, holiday picks, bells and other doo-dads to bling out their wreath. We will have some odds and ends too.

Class Fee: $35 for one wreath and $15 for each additional wreath.
