Beatniks & Butterflies is a Soundry Production hosted by local madman poet, Paul Fauteux.  This is a gathering for writers of all genres/levels and the people who enjoy being around them. Each week includes featured authors, interactive writing exercises, an open mic-aroni, drinking, MADgination and group story telling.

Epicure Cafe is a community cafe that supports the arts. They also serve delicious food, beer and wine. So while we write and laugh and listen and tell stories, we nibble and sip and go on a little adventure together.

This is an open mic specifically for local writers of all genres and story tellers. Everyone is encouraged to bring and share original work at this intimate community cafe in Fairfax. We will be engaging the audience by including their friendly comments and feedback throughout the evening.

Published authors are encouraged to bring copies of their work to sign and sell.

Join us for The Soundry’s very first Swap Romp! This is a clothing swap for dresses & shoes. This is a great reason to clean out your closet and get some “new to you” items for the fall season.

Here is how it works:

*Bring your gently used, clean, fashionable dresses (casual, cocktail, business, summer, special occasion) and shoes that you are willing to part with, to the Swap Romp. A MINIMUM of 6 approved pieces is required to earn your access to the swap.

*From 4-5 pm we will be organizing, hanging and displaying items so everyone’s shopping experience is fun and easy. No swapping will begin until 5pm to keep things fair and square!

*Entry fee is $10 (plus your 6 pieces). At 5pm the swap starts and you can try on and take home as many items as you like. Bring a bag!

*Unclaimed items will be donated to the Community for Helping Others (CHO).

*Participants must complete our online registration form so we can gauge attendance and organize the event accordingly:

WHAT ABOUT ACCESSORIES? Yes! We encourage you to bring handbags, belts and fashion jewelry to the swap, but accessories will not count towards your 6 pieces required to participate.  All items should be in good condition.

For this Swap Romp, we are NOT accepting any clothing items not listed above. Stay tuned for he next one!
