Jennifer Crawford

Jennifer Crawford--Entrepreneur Extraordinaire

Jennifer “Jelly” Crawford was born in Milford, NY–the home of Pineapple Cheese. Her mother was in the rum exporting business and her father  ran an art gallery out of a former dairy barn.  At age 16,  Jennifer, whose friends secretly call Jelly, “borrowed” the family pick up truck and headed to DC. There she met Thor, went to college and dreamed of someday opening The Soundry.

Is awesome.  That’s really all you need to know.

Melissa Branin

Melissa Branin--Curator/Director of Member Relations

When I joined the staff of The Soundry in November 2008, it consisted of a gutted auto-body garage, a long table, three chairs, and a telephone.  Those first 6 weeks were killer–an amazing time of development, stress, and struggle that crescendoed with our Grand Opening and first art show, “The Chase”.  Since then, I have curated 8 art shows at The Soundry.  I absolutely love my job, from getting to know and love our artists, to event planning, to curating our exhibitions, every day at The Soundry is the real thing.  And I love riding to work on the bike trail (when its warm)!

I earned my BA in Liberal Arts from Southern Virginia University in 2005.  I am originally from Utah, and have absolutely loved living in Virginia for the past 8 years.

I love playing my guitar and harmonicas, writing songs and performing around town.  Check out my myspace page to get samplings of my music.  Also check out the House Show Series that I operate in Reston, VA.

I teach Guitar and Accordion Lessons at The Soundry.  Send me an email for lesson inquiries, melissa@soundry.net.

Rosemary Ivosevich

Rosemary Ivosevich--Graphic Designer/Barista

“Soundry is the best place I have ever worked.  I work in the cafe as well as help run the many events that we have. I am also The Soundry’s in-house graphic designer, which has been a lot of fun.  The atmosphere is chill and it rarely feels like I’m actually working.  I get to meet new people every day and I get to see all of the artists work from start to finish.”

Rosemary is an exceptional graphic designer and screen printer.  She works with clients from small business to bands to event organizers.  If you need a logo, t-shirt, sticker, website, pamphlet, or any other design, contact Rosemary at rosemary_ivos@yahoo.com

Jeff Duka

Jeff Duka--Artist/Barista

Jeff Duka was raised locally in Fairfax City.  He has been involved in the arts in the DC area for many years.  After a short stint at the Corcoran, he worked for numerous Washington artists as a studio assistant, gaining valuable experience in sculptor, metal work, and carpentry.  Jeff became a member of The Soundry after he participated in the “Art Garage Show”.  His artwork ranges from conceptual, abstract, and realist painting.

He loves his job at The Soundry because of the fun work environment, good sense of community, and his lovely lovely co-workers (specifically Sean and Aaron).
